Motivation
Functional Safety is a hot topic that has been emerging in all industry domains. However, companies are often unaware of liability consequences including compensation costs and potential charge of bodily harm with fatal consequences against individuals product faults can induce if compliance to Functional Safety standards cannot be proved. Furthermore, the implications Functional Safety standard such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 (the new automotive-specific Functional Safety standard to become valid in 2011) have on the development, production, commissioning, maintenance & repair and decommissioning of hard- and software systems are often underestimated.

Therefore, it is meaningful to learn about how and to what extent those standards are to be implemented.

Our compact workshop provides a basic understanding of Functional Safety. Subsequently, we perform a quick analysis together with you. Based on that you can decide on, and plan for, further steps.

  • Security, safety, functional safety,  active safety, passive safety, usage safety

• Motivation for functional safety
  • Product liability
  • Product accreditation

• Requirements for
  • your product lifecycle processes
  • mandatory methods to use during product development
  • the product itself (e.g. target failure rates, diagnostic coverage)

Modul B: “Analysis of your current situation“

By means of structured questionnaires we ascertain whether

• your products are safety-relevant.
• you already have an adequate organizational structure for establishing safety managers and independent escalation paths.
• you already have required processes and methods in place.
• your current procedures are suitable for introducing functional safety

Conditions
Arrange for your individual on-site workshop for only EUR 444.00 irrespective of the number of workshop participants. Should we receive a contract from you after the workshop we will not charge you the workshop costs.
