This training is the official Software Engineering Institute (SEI) training “Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development Version 1.2” and is held by authorized SEI trainers.
Introduction/motivation
This three-day training familiarizes system and software engineers, managers and practitioners, participants of a future assessment and members of process groups (e.g. SEPG, EPG) with the basic CMMI® concepts. CMMI for Development (CCMI-DEV) models are tools by which means organizations can improve their ability to develop and maintain quality products and services. CMMI-DEV models are an integration of standard procedures by proven subject-specific process improvement models including CMM® for Software, EIA 731 and Integrated Product Development CMM.
As a part of the CMMI Product Suite this training was updated to the model’s version 1.2. Furthermore this course was improved due to requests for modification by participants and trainers.
This training consists of lectures and group exercises and gives the participants plenty of chances for questions and discussions. After the training the participants will be able to describe the structure of the CMMI-DEV models and their dependencies, to discuss the process areas of the CMMI-DEV models and to find the relevant information in the model.
This course fulfils the requirements of an official SEI introductory CMMI course.
Goals
The successful completion of this training enables the participants to
understand the components of the CMMI-DEV model and their circumstances
discuss the process areas
describe the model’s subject-specific contents
Coursework
It is necessary to study the training material on the first and second evening of the training.
Successful training completion
Prerequisite for the successful completion of this training is the participant’s attendance and active participation in discussions and exercises on all of the three days.
